A Wedding at Glen Albyn Estate

Mark & Bernadette

Guests arrived to a red carpet entrance on the iconic River Terrace, an outdoor event space with capacity to host up to 200 people for cocktail style events. Here, overlooking the Brisbane River and glittering Story Bridge.

“And what a view! I’ve never seen anything like it in my whole life.”

Groups mingled over flutes of champagne and canapés of macadamia prawns with Szechuan pepper mayo and pork belly with kimchi, mushrooms and miso

A truly unique experience

In true Chinese tradition, the festivities launched with a spectacular lion dance on the terrace. At the conclusion of the performance, guests moved into the Long Room, a striking function room beneath the Customs House copper dome. The Long Room is one of Brisbane’s best gala venues and has the capacity to host up to 300 people for cocktail style events or up to 220 people for seated banquets.

The Long Room was styled to suit the occasion, decking the room in vibrant reds and golds. Dining tables were topped in traditional Chinese lanterns and golden table runners, and a stage and podium were positioned at the forefront of the room with red uplighting and backdrops. As guests took their seats, MC and comedian Peter Berner took to the podium to introduce the night’s programme.
